Processing and packaging vegetables
All incoming products are inspected, graded and then stored at the right location and at the right temperature in our warehouse. Once the vegetables are sold, it is time to prep them for delivery.
Vegetable packaging
Once the vegetables have been properly sorted, rinsed, cut and processed, it is time to package them. We offer a range of packaging options, including flow packing, sealing, nets or cone-shaped bags; the choices are endless. We conduct extensive tests in order to develop the best and most sustainable packaging solutions for our vegetables. In doing so, we pay attention to the needs and wishes of consumers and retailers alike and remain flexible in terms of what we offer.
Sustainable packaging material for vegetables
Sustainability plays an important role during the processing of our vegetables. Think of e.g. our use of clear, compostable packaging. Other core values that contribute to our organisation's sustainability targets are quality, shelf life and ease of use. For example, we prevent food waste by looking for alternative solutions with which to add value, such as processing or using products in other channels or categories.
Innovations in processing and vegetable packaging
We set ourselves apart with innovations within the chain as a whole and within our own business processes. In doing so, we stay innovative and inspirational for customers and consumers alike. For example, we use cameras to inspect the quality of our vegetables during sorting. Innovation also plays an important role in the processing of our vegetables. What do end users need or want? What are the latest trends and how should we respond to them? In our modern society, the ease of preparation of our vegetables is more important than ever. We accommodate this by e.g. developing a packaging that can be placed directly in the microwave.
A safe work environment
Workplace safety is a core tenet of our organisation. It is important to us to make sure that everyone is mindful of their own and other people's safety in the workplace and that they actually feel safe at work. We make sure to always train and deploy enough EROs and organise annual safety weeks with events, courses and training programmes.
